So how do you add characters to the end? I can not. If I have a full
strip (or any portion thereof) and add a new character, it is added at
the head of the list -- as it has been since the ribbon function was
added to Legacy nearly a decade ago. I have just tried this in v5, v6,
v7, beta and gp. It works the same every time: each new character, as
stated, bumps off the last in line.

This does not, from the OP's latest post, appear to be the issue, however.
