I am still using version 5, and any added characters will go to the beginning, i.e. left hand of ribbon, however if you click the curser to the right end, OR in the middle, the desired character will appear where the curser is, also you can copy and paste the required characters in whatever order you want (even characters from another source, but only if they are on the chart). e.g. £ will paste but € (euro) will not
