I don't use SourceWriter for censuses.

I'm very much a splitter. My Source List Name reads, e.g.:

Year US State County - township/PO - repository (HeritageQuest, Anc or
whatever)
1860 US Census-IL-Jackson Co.-Carbondale PO-HerQu

For the Title, I simply copy and paste the Source List Name.

In the space for Publication Facts, I put series, roll#, url.

For Repository, it's HeritageQuestOnline, Ancestry or whatever

In the Detail, I put
page #, Line #s, house#, family#: head of household, street address
e.g.:
p127A, lines 9-17, House 236, Fam 240: James M. Jackson h'hold, 324 Vine St.

(That way, I can use the same detail for every member of the household.)

Another advantage is that when I need to add a census I don't already have,
I just choose one from the Master Source List that is most closely similar
to the one I want to add, edit it and save the edited version as a new
source.

Anything to avoid typing & save time!!
