Pat, Difficult to described, it is a marriage which is in your files but which does not exist. It can, for example, arise when when a partner is added with the intention of replacing, say, an unknown. Instead a second partner is added so that there is now two marriages instead of one – just the sort of thing which can arise when adding a step mother :-).
On a different point, whenever a new person is added, before running the RC Tools>Set Relationships should be run.
