From what I have read there are going to be two different Windows 8, one will be for PC's and the other for tablets (there are different processor chips involved). I have not read anything that makes me think that applications which will work on the PC version will also work on tablets.
I do not plan on changing to Windows 8 on my PC, do not own any tablet and have no plans to acquire one.
