Event Sentence Definitions are accessed from two different starting points,
which leads to two different uses.

Firstly, there is the Definition found from the Master Event Definition List.
This provides the default for every new event being attached to an individual or
marriage. If you make changes here, they should only affect any new events
created from that point onwards.

Secondly, there is the Definition found when clicking on the Edit Event Sentence
Definition button when viewing the events already assigned to an individual or
marriage. This definition is created from the master definition at the time that
the event was created. Changing the sentence definition here, should only affect
the sentence for this one event.

So, for what you want to do, add an event using the default Master definition,
then select the specific event and edit the sentence definition.

As for the Refresh Sentence button... The line of text under the two buttons is
how the sentence will appear using the present definition and the data you've
entered. If you change the definition of the event sentence, its' effect is not
seen under the buttons until you...refresh.
