Thanks. I misread your response. I was still concerned about checking "Exclude
from Reports" in the Master Source List, since those sources are also cited in
non-private indiividuals. I did go to "Edit Details" in the Assigned Sources
for some of the private persons and unchecked "Include this Citation in
Reports." I then unchecked "Override Source Options" during the export. That
seems to have solved the issue. Now I just have to do the same for several
thousand other private individuals in my tree. Thanks again. From:

I You should UNCHECK that box and then on the source detail screen for the
individuals, CHECK the box Exclude from Reports.

I did check the "Override Source Options - . . . " but still had
the same problem.

Would "Exclude from Reports" work? I assume
it would exclude all instances of that source. The sources appear in both
private and non-private individuals. I would only want these sources
excluded from the private individuals.

Michael,
If the source is a master source have you tried checking the box “Exclude
from Reports” or on the citation details the same box? When you export to GEDCOM
uncheck the “Override Source Options – include all source information”
box.

Subject: [LegacyUG] Suppressing Source Information for Private
Individuals in Tree

Dear all,

I have individuals set as private in my tree
because of German privacy laws. When I export the tree to a GEDCOM file, I
do not override any privacy settings. I then import the GEDCOM file to my
password protected website. No information for individuals marked as
private is imported, which is good. The source information is imported
however, which is bad. In other words a person viewing a private
individual on my website can see from whom I received the information. I
want the source information for individuals marked as private to also be
excluded from the export. Can anybody tell me how to do
this?

Thanks in advance for any help and apologize if the question
is confusing.

Michael
