The marriage to "Unknown" can be created by a number of actions.

Any time a Marriage Record is created in Legacy the MRIN must be linked
to a man and a woman as the two participants. If either partner is not a
"real" person with a RIN Legacy uses RIN zero as this unknown spouse.
The "just leave it blank" setting determines how Legacy displays these
RIN 0 people in family view. In the list of spouses or when displaying
the marriage list Legacy will always display "Unknown" for the name of
RIN 0.
