I have several levels with different practices: Common sites like Ancestry, NEHGS, Family Search - no link
Uncommon sites like Surname sites: link in general notes, along with title and copy of the information for the individual (with the title I can usually find it if the site moves) A few specific sites: particularly Find-A-Grave: link in the source text and comments, along with a copy of the information for the individual. Wikipedia usually goes in general notes. I didn't find a stone for Vernon. 1910 census: Joseph M Flagg shoemaker age 40 Married 19 years, he and parents born ME, is a prisoner in the Mass State Prison, 5th ward Boston. Talking to family, they said it was likely from a bar fight when they were living in Brockton looking for work.
