I've tested your statement in the past and I am aware that it is true that if a user merely clicks to open the Marriage Information view, enters absolutely no information whatsoever, and then stupidly clicks on SAVE or uses the red X to close the window instead of clicking CANCEL, then Legacy creates a marriage of no information to a person also with no information. (By the way, I consider that a bug -- or at least illogical data entry. Try creating a person with no information, and no name. Legacy won't let that happen and immediately brings up a notification window to the user. You'd think the programmers would have allowed for the same logic when the user attempts to create an empty marriage link.)
In my case, this new person was enter into the file with nothing more than a name. I knew that the next day I would be making a phone call to relatives to get all the facts pertaining to him. And that's when I found out that he was SINGLE and that's when I discovered the existence of the erroneous preferred marriage. I would like to say that I am 100% positive that I never previously opened up the Marriage Information window and then stupidly clicked SAVE (or closed using the red X) but then stranger things have happened. OK, so we'll chalk this one up to "user error", for now. But I've got my eye on you!
