Brian, I haven't followed the first part of this thread....
I never use the picture gallery, instead I go to View>Master Lists> Sources and add my pictures thru the master edit list. Secondly, I have found that running the Maint/ Check repair every other day, eliminates most all these types of problems within Legacy. Just my own way of doing things.
