All children have a father and a mother. The record in Legacy which connects the father and mother is called a marriage even if the arrangement is a one-night-stand. Children are linked to the marriage record. An unknown parent can be entered as "Unknown" or just left blank. Enter as many "marriage" records as necessary to link children to their biological parents. One of the more interesting situations that is difficult to record in Legacy is a child that has been adopted by a single mother. The mother never had a spouse. Adopted children should be linked to their biological parents as well as their adopted parents. Hope that helps.Ron Taylor
