I’m pretty sure you actually don’t have a working file yet. If you are trying to use the *zip* backup file to bring your data onto the new computer (a perfectly acceptable method), you need to do File à Restore Family file. That will open the zip file, and then you need to do as Save As to create the true family file wherever you wish to save it.
