Hello, I am working on fixing my Locations Lists, wrestling with a problem for a while and could really use some advice. My family comes from many small towns in Eastern Europe, the area known as Galicia. Today these towns are mostly located in the Ukraine. However, I prefer to record the "Location" as it was known when my ancestors lived there, late 19th century and back. So my locations look like, ex. "Mielnica,Borszczów,Galicia,Austria", but the "Geo Locations Database output is "Mielnica, , Ternopil's'ka, Ukraine My location, obviously is incorrect for me, as "Austria" didn't exist before WW I, Galicia was part of the "Austrian Empire". So my question to other LUG Galitzianers ...and all knowledgeable people, How should my ancestral towns be recorded? Austria isn't historically correct and Austrian Empire seems more like a political entity as opposed to a location. Thank you and I appreciate your opinions, Brian Lehman New York
