I like the new screen look. They are a bit more visually attractive, and I like the fact that the same basic structure is being kept. Contrary to what some other programs have done, Legacy displays only one view at a time (e.g. family, pedigree, index, descendant) but makes it easy to move between them using the tabs across the top. Others will disagree, but I find structures such as FTM’s four panel view that incorporates Pedigree, Family, Index, and an Individual view on one screen just too busy for my brain.
But, what I can’t tell from the screenshots is whether my absolute favourite feature is still there. “Stretch Fonts When Ressizing”. This allows me to use my large monitor to get really easy to read text, without fooling around with Windows DPI settings or screen resolution which always seems to work for one program but messes up three others. Please tell me that it’s still there. Now, I will humbly eat my words – the new screens look very interesting. It appears that Legacy 8 is ditching the stale look.
