There is a difference between marrying and having a relationship.  I am
just saying that I may know that the person never married.  I don't know
whether that person had a relationship.  I don't know whether that person
had children, and I should not be forced to say so.

I think everyone knows that -- short of divine intervention -- it takes
both an egg and a sperm to produce a human child.

Also, it seems to me that one ought to be able to say that a woman never
married AND that she had a child.  (A man, too, for that matter.  We all
know that wedlock and children do not necessarily go hand in hand.  I don't
know why Legacy insists on combining them.
