See, here again I maintain that the word ‘marriage’ is defined culturally and subject to interpretation. If I have a relative who is in a long-term, committed relationship with a same-sex partner, I will probably want to link them in Legacy (as best I can). I really don’t care whether or not they had a wedding event that was recognized as legal by some government jurisdiction. (But I would capture that event if it did happen.)
And, Washington State is not on the east coast, of course. It’s immaterial anyway, as I doubt that Legacy developers let personal biases influence their decisions to implement new features. (Some individuals might, but not a team running a competitive business.) We’ve been told many times that the problem is deep within the database structure and would require a major redesign.
