Thanks, Problem solved. I've been using Legacy for about 7 years and have just now started dabblng in reports. The "error 75" and special notice to Vista Users was the key. In my organizational obsession, I installed Legacy in the "Program files" folder. The description provided by Legacy and you, (Thank you) provided the information I needed. Les, I cannot replicate your problem, so can only comment from the information which you give. Perhaps critically, you do not mention where you have the legacy files stored, nor can I tell whether you were a Legacy user before March of this year, if so I apologise if I give information about which you are already aware. Errors by number can be searched by going to the Legacy Home tab and on the bottom right you will see “On-line troubleshooting help”, click that and then select Solutions by Error Number>Error 75, where you will see: “Windows Vista and Error 75: Path/File access error If you installed Legacy to the Program Files directory on a Windows Vista computer, you must uninstall the program and then re-install it to the default C:\Legacy\ location. Make sure the User Account Control (UAC) is turned on/enabled. Click Here for help with Windows Vista computers “ C:\Legacy is where the program will be looking for Legacy – is that where yours is? Clicking the link from the above page will take you to further information re: installation (it may or may not work from this email). I would suggest that you have a read of these and try the suggestions out and come back if there still is a problem. I have the latest build (7.5.0.219) installed in March, 2013. My system is Windows Vista SP1. My database consists of about 3200 individuals. I have been attempting to extract information from my database by using the Reports menu and the Publishing Center. My problem is that when I try to generate a FGS (Family Group Sheet) for some families, the heading for the "research notes" always says, "Husband - Barbara Honig" Barbara Honig is the wife of an ancestor and is within my wife's side of the family. Barbara is in the database as a female. In looking for the root of this problem, I tried to generate a FGS for MY GRANDPARENTS, and the research notes had the same heading as my previous "Honig" example. Both families are in the same database. I attempted to repair the database and came up with an error #75. Something to do with a path error. I'm afraid that if I Restore with a backup file older than my current backup, I may loose some information I have entered along the way. Any Ideas? I believe my problem may reside in the fact that I cannot repair the db. But how can I bridge this impass? How can I discover what path the program is looking for? I have backups in 3 locations (two on USB thumb drives and one on my HD). Thanks in Advance for any and all suggestions. If anyone needs information I may have overlooked, Please inform me, I will supply you with said info.
