It is all very well putting surety levels on sources, it’s surety levels on
interpretation of the sources that is my worry. I know that parish records are
a primary source but the quality is only as good as the person entering the
info. How do I know if this John Smith is correct and the one baptized in the
next parish isn’t the one. At least 10% were not baptized there may have been
yet another one. None of this is anything to do with the surety of the source.
I would like to be able to show on the family view my level of certainty of the
evidence. Something along the line of a colour for that whole line which may or
may not be correct.
