None of the settings files are part of the backup. Only those specific to the Family File you're backing up. Specifically, the data file, Research Guidance results file, Relationships file, Clipboard files and Focus Groups.
It's wise to do a regular backup of your hard drive. If you make sure that the c:\Legacy folder is backed up with other files on the hard drive, you have nothing to worry about. I use the Windows backup in Windows 7 and specified the c:\Legacy folder to be backed up.
