Chronology is a timeline
Events are plotted according to when they happened in relation to the life
of the person.
So, because your spouse was born before you, his birth is plotted before
yours.
If your spouse was Younger than you, then he would be after you.
Further down the timeline, your actual marriage date will be plotted, and
your children's births (if any) would be plotted in the correct spots.

The way a timeline is set up is standard across any timeline in anyform.
It's not something Legacy has decided to make up.

The fall of the Roman Empire appears on a timeline before the Dark ages,
and that appears before World War 2.
Ok, so those dates are a long way apart, but the principle is still the
same.
What comes first in time, comes first in the timeline or chronology of
events, whether those events relate to the world or to a single human being.

Hope this helps.
