Emily, This sounds a lot like the Lineage Report. But as it is currently programmed in Legacy, you can start with one person (male or female), and the report goes back through just the males to the oldest ancestor you have in your database on that male line.
I have submitted a suggestion to combine the logic in the Lineage Report with the logic used in the Relationship Calculator to provide us with a tool that could do exactly what you are asking, regardless of whether the beginning, ending or any individual in between is male or female. For example, one side of the Relationship Calculator screen traces ancestry from the selected person (male or female) back to the common ancestor (male or female), going through males & females to get there. If they used that logic to find the records, and then the Lineage Report format, that would give you what you (and I) want. ;) I don't know if this report will be in v8 or not. I submitted it back before they were giving good indications of what would be done based on a suggestion. The best way to limit who is shown on many of the reports is to somehow select/tag who you want and then export them into another Legacy db, and run the report there. I do not see a way to do so either from Picture Center or from the Media Gallery or from the Edit Picture screen.
