It is true that by default Windows will display .zip files as folders. But if you don't like that method and want to rely on your own 3rd party .zip program to view the contents of .zip files, then check out the following web page with instructions on how to disable the display of .zip file contents in Explorer. It does involve some registry changes but the site include a .reg file to download and perform all the needed changes. And you can always change back to the original default method if desired. On the web page, start with step #4 to disable the display of .zip file contents.
