Barbara, I use Carbonite and love it. I emailed their customer support and asked specifically how to back up Legacy and it is very simple…..select a file or folder to be included in your backup, right-click the item and select ‘Back this up’ from the Carbonite context menu.
Hope that helps. I backup on Carbonite and an external hard drive. I understood that Carbonite backed up everything automatically but didn't! Evidently you have to 'adjust settings'. 'Did manage to get my Legacy restored from the external hard drive. Legacy support also suggested SkyDrive and Dropbox, neither of which I use. In a recent Family Tree Magazine a site recommended was backupmytree.com Would like feedback from anyone who uses Carbonite, SkyDrive, Dropbox and/or backupmytree.com as to how you like it, ease of use, success in restoring files etc. Thanks, Barbara Pixley Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
