Look in GMail setting for the following
Automatically add invitations to my calendar:Yes
Yes, but don't send event reminders unless I have responded "Yes" or "Maybe"
No, only display invitations to which I have replied

Make sure the last one is selected and then save changes.

No more events being added without your approval.
