If only genealogy were that simple! It can be very difficult to work out who events belong to. This is especially the case with earlier English burial registers, where there is often nothing but a name, especially for a man (women were often described as "wife of ..." or "widow").
So I have found the burial I believe to be of my ancestor Nathaniel Smith in 1681, but I could easily have got it wrong. If I subsequently find additional info. suggesting that it was a different Nathaniel (it was a name used repeatedly in the family) I don't wish to lose site of the fact that I have evidence that he died before his wife - who died in 1692.
