It is OK to have a Legacy 8 that works differently than 7. What’s not OK is to have Legacy 8 to work differently while introducing a few things that work, introducing a few things that kinda work and breaking a lot of things that used to work … Kinda like going to your car dealer and having that software upgrade done then finding out that the pretty lights and add-on GPS come at the expense of the A/C and 5mpg. The dealer says they might be able to fix that in the next few months … Happy? C.G. Ouimet Kingston ON I can honestly say that I had been using Roots Magic 6.XX because of the shared events (actually, I started using RM 4.XX then upgraded to 5.XX and then 6.XX). Now that Legacy has finally added shared events to version 8, I have stopped using any of the other products that used shared events/"witness" feature (read completely uninstalled). No one is saying that Legacy 8.XX is totally error free. There is currently no program in existence that is 100% error free. The majority of the complaints with Legacy 8.XX are program changes that some folks don't like and have made up their mind that the program doesn't work like it used to (i.e. Legacy 7.5) therefore in their mind they see the way the program works now as being buggy. The folks that fall into this category will never give themselves the opportunity to get used to the new features and operation of the program. One person on this list is even using the excuse that because he hasn't received his license key he is demanding a refund and is moving on to another program. The reality is, he doesn't want to learn how the new Legacy works. Some of the complaints on this list remind me of a lady I worked with years ago - she had been with the company for more than 30 years and she was set in her way when it came to how things were done. Unfortunately, that way things had been done for years and years were no longer efficient. We started gradually making changes that were intended to make our processes more efficient. The more we changed the processes, the more this lady became vocal and rebellious. Finally, she just no longer could deal with the change made (which by the way was saving the company in excess of $700K annually) and she decided it was time to retire. I for one am very happy with the changes that Legacy 8.XX has introduced. I hope there are more folks happy/pleased with the changes than there are those who have made up their mind to reject the changes.
