The Family Search Family Tree date “standard” is actually 21 November 1953 (full month name), which is what I have my Legacy set to.

I just updated Legacy and it removed all the modfied settings and reinstated the "21. Nov 1953" option after changing it before the update. I hope the Legacy restore the standard format "21 Nov 1953 to be inline with Ancestry and Family Search as I used it and encouraged it for 40 years in genealogy and now its gone. The period addition I hope is just a programming issue that will be resolved in a future update. I do appreciate the new Search the Internet option with the drop down list of searchable website. I was always hoping to be able to select easier the website searches. Hi Darryl, "the old format which is standard "21 Nov 1953" is not option anymore on the program" That's odd, it's exactly what I selected when I was reviewing the options, and have it set now. On my screen, looking at Customise 5.1, it's the second option in the left-hand column, below "Nov 21, 1953". That's a comma, not a full stop/period. If you're seeing different options, perhaps it is influenced by the language set when you first opened Legacy v8 - I selected English (Australia), since I'm in New Zealand and it's the closest to what I use in everyday language. You can change the language option via the ribbon - Option > Select Language. "gbl" means "global", I expect. As in, this setting is a global one, and will affect every family file (ff) you open. A setting that indicates it is (ff) only affects the family file you have open at the time you set that option. I really like that Legacy now tells us this information.
