What is the period after the date of the month for?

It's a user setting not a program problem

I just updated Legacy and it removed all the modfied settings and reinstated 
the "21. Nov 1953" option after changing it before the update.  I hope the 
Legacy restore the standard format "21 Nov 1953 to be inline with Ancestry and 
Family Search as I used it and encouraged it for 40 years in genealogy and now 
its gone. The period addition I hope is just a programming issue that will be 
resolved in a future update.
