I am back and found Brian's note and ran the Media Relinker, for which I sent a new note to the list. It worked but still left me wondering what to put in 6.2.
After running Media Linker, option 6.2 still had the default C drive folder but clicking on the View Current List of Media Folders button shows that Pix/Sources and Pix/People are there, as well as [Family File Folder]/Pix/Locations (and People and Sources). Based on what William Boswell and you have suggested, I have set 6.2 to be the Pix folder. I do not see a way to assign multiple paths, since there is no ability to set the text directly in the 6.2 box. So right now it is pointing to the Pix folder. I am not sure if this will work the same as in Legacy 7.5, but it seems to be the best way to configure option 6.2. ________________________________ From: Paul Gray <[email protected]> To: [email protected] Sent: Tuesday, December 3, 2013 11:46 AM Subject: RE: [LegacyUG] Migrating Pictures etc from 7.5 Folder to 8 Media Folder Hi again Wesley, In an earlier post, you said: I keep all my Legacy files on a different hard drive (K) than the default. There, under Legacy, I have folders for Geo, Pix, Sounds, Videos ... which were the Legacy 7.5 file structure. So, that the media folder structure we want to maintain, no reason to change. I’m wondering what you have in option 6.2 now? Perhaps the first thing that needs to be done is to put K:\Legacy\Geo, K:\Legacy\Pix etc. (or whatever their exact paths are) into the Master Media Folder List. That should tell Legacy what the high level folders are for all of your existing media. I would think that would be enough, but maybe the media relinker needs to be run. I don’t understand why it would need to be since you haven’t moved anything, but who knows? There is a solution out there, we just need to figure out what it is.
