Hi Lyn, All the names will be there if you opened the right family file. Perhaps you opened an old copy?
If you installed to the new defaults and chose the option to have Legacy 8 copy your file to the new default location in My Documents and convert it there - which was the recommended option, then your Legacy 7 file is still there and you can try again. Can you still open Legacy 7 and open your family file? That's comforting when making a big change from one version of a program to a new one. It also assures you that you can definitely start again. The pictures will also be there but just not linked properly in the converted file. Legacy 8 has two new tools to help you. The first one in the Media Relinker. This may take a while but it will help you relink all your media. The second one is the Gather My Media tool. This can help you gather all your media into one folder if it is scattered all over the place OR can gather just the odd file that you forgot to put into your media folder or a sub-folder of that media folder. Get back to us if that's not enough help and we'll try again.
