The media is linked to the event - indirectly. Unfortunately, Media Center is not programmed to find those links, though it certainly could, and in my opinion should show them when *All pictures or an Event that links to them is selected. Perhaps should have an additional selection of *Source Pictures.
They are accessible, of course, through the Sources icon, by then selecting the detail connected to an event, but it is logical to also have them accessible through the media icon. -----Original Message----- From: David Newton [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Monday, December 16, 2013 11:21 AM To: [email protected] Subject: [LegacyUG] Linking media to source citations Am I right in thinking that media linking is, for want of a better word, not transitive. An image linked to a source citation then the source cited for an event does not result in the image being linked to the event. A typical situation: I have a census image sheet which I transcribe and cite as a source for a census event and I link the image to the citation. This does not show up in the media gallery of the individual as an event picture. If I link the image to the event itself then it does show up. So my question is - have I missed a setting which allows the above scenario to link an image to an event via a citation or is it necessary for me to link to both the citation and the event?
