The first one could have already been deleted. Meanwhile the second one with
the “(2)” remains as your only one in use. Windows is not smart enough to know
that the other(s) have been deleted. You can freely rename any icon to any
convenient name you wish….such as just removing the “(2)”. And as mentioned
before, there is no harm done if you have duplicate shortcuts.

See if the other one is pinned on your Start menu, or just do a search for any

and this will list all occurrences of your Legacy shortcuts, and where they are.

There's absolutely no harm done at all if you have duplicate shortcuts

OK, I deleted the shortcut on my desktop and now there is none at all. If I do
a "create shortcut " will there be two again? I don't know where the 2nd one
is (or was).

You probably have just created a duplicate 'shortcut' instead. Right click on
each 'shortcut' and select Properties, then look at the name of the program in
'Target'. That should probably say "C:\Program Files\Legacy8\Legacy.exe" in
each case, meaning one program installation, and just two shortcuts to get
there. Delete the duplicate shortcut, it don't delete Legacy.

I may have messed up in my installation of V. 8. The icon on my desktop shows
Legacy 8 and after it shows (2) . Does this mean I have accidentally installed
2 copies? I cannot tell, other than the (2) showing. When I open it it seems
OK. If there are two copies, how do I fix it?
