I wonder if this occurs in other places too.

OK. I see it there, too. I had not had a case where a bolded part of an Event
Note showed in the Desc/Place/Notes field on the Individual Information screen.
Description and Place usually take up all the space and very little, if any,
of the Notes ever show up there. I think there are also places where the info
is displayed in just plain text – not formatted and no formatting codes. That
would also be a bug.

In the Events/Facts window the codes appear when I point the mouse onto the
Desc/Place/Notes field and it displays what is written in that field.

There is no option to turn these on and off. When they are being displayed in
that format, it is a bug. I’ve seen it before on the Notes tab of the Name
List, but had not noticed on the Events Tab of the Name List until just now.
Is that where you are seeing it? Or are you finding it someplace else?

Subject: [LegacyUG] Embedded codes displayed
I have converted my family file from Legacy 7.5 Deluxe to Legacy 8 Deluxe. How
do I turn off the display of embedded codes, for example <<b>>, which appears
on my Census events when I have used bold text to highlight a line of text.
These did not appear in Legacy 7.5 Deluxe.
Thanks, Diane
