This is a BUG. Type a new name, like ‘winter time, florida, usa’ and the
conversion is ‘Winter Ti USAFlorida, Usa’ .

Problem appears to be with the convert to Initial Caps function when the last
part is “usa”.

I have that in many, if not most, locations. But, I imported a gedcom, so I
assumed the problem was connected to the import.

I spoke too soon with my other e-mail - I just assumed it was an error in his
master list . . .

But I tested it and I have the same problem.  I do NOT have any locations that
begin with "orange" in my master list.

I also tried "Winter Springs, Florida, usa" (a city that is not in my master
list) and it came back with:
Is 'Winter Sp USAs, Florida, Usa' correct?

And "los vegas, nevada, usa" comes back with
Los Vega USAevada, Usa

Similar for a couple other new cities I tried.

Open the “Master List” and there select the misspelt location and then
select edit.

Now correct it to the correct spelling and it should not appear again.

If you correct it to be the same as some other location, then it should merge
with the other existing location.

Subject: [LegacyUG] New location

I am using version 8.0.0.367 on Windows 7

I am having difficulty adding a new location one of my family files.

For example I type in "orange, virginia, usa" and when I press enter the field
is displayed as "Orange, ViUSAia, Usa". I am expecting the result of "Orange,
Virginia, USA".

I have two family files and this issue does not happen in my "main" file.

Is it possible I have a setting wrong?

Any help/advice appreciated.

John
