Jane,
I'm using Legacy 8.0.0.397 with Windows 7 64bit.  Under Reports>Descendant
Narrative Book>Options there are options listed under Table of Contents.  You
can uncheck the box "Start on an odd page number" and that should eliminate the
blank page.  Also, if you don't want the page for table of contents, uncheck
"Generate Table of Contents".

There is a similar option in Reports>Publishing Center>Options where you can
uncheck "Start each report section on an odd-numbered page" to eliminate blank
pages between sections.  Those blank pages are intended to allow for industry
standard blank page breaks so that each new section will start on an
odd-numbered page.  If you include the Descendant Narrative Book as a section
or the only section in the Publishing Center, then you can deal with Title
pages, index, etc. with those settings.

The statement "another name for..." is being generated because you have alias
names for people in your database.  If there is no alias name for a person,
then the statement will not show.  Under Report Options, you can also uncheck
"Alternate given and surnames" for any specific report to surpress those names.

To get the list you mentioned, follow these steps:
1) Clear tags 1 and 2 so they can be used in this process. (Tagging needs to be
enabled in Options>Customize>1.5)
2) Set tag1 for all of Mr. X's descendants for 2 generations (that will tag
him, his wife, and his children.  More generations if you want grandchildren,
etc.)
3) Set tag2 for everyone that has the specified county in their death location.
That can be done with Search>Detailed Search for Individuals Death Place
Contains "Weber, Utah" if I wanted everybody with a death place in Weber
County, Utah.  Then with the Search List showing, click Options>Advanced
Tagging and set tag2 for "Everyone in Search List".
4) Search>Detailed Search for Individuals with tag1 and tag2 = tagged.  If you
only want the females, then "Look for whom"=Female instead of Individual.
5) With the Search List showing, click Print and create your report (or click
Options>Advanced Tagging and set another tag for those found so it can be used
by the tool in the bottom right to rotate through everyone on that tag).

I didn't think there was anything impolite.  I didn't even notice an attempt at
humor that was directed toward anyone other than yourself; I took it to mean
you weren't sure if you had been able to communicate your problem clearly.  No
worries :-)  You may get additional answers from others who have had this same
problem.  I'm not skilled in the report area or I would look at it and see what
I could tell you.  Have a great weekend! Kathy
