You would enter any particular Source in all the places where it applies. This might be only to one of the vital events (Birth, Marriage, Death, or a Fact/Event or both. Using the Birth Certificate as an example, you might use that as a Source for the Individual's name and date and place of birth, for the parents' names, the Relationship to the parents and also the Source for the Event of Informant (or Registrant or whatever you might call it) for the person who registered the baby's birth. That's lots of different places to use the one Source. You would enter it once - directly onto the Source Clipboard, or attached to one of the fields and then copy it to the Source Clipboard - and then paste it from the Clipboard many times. > If they do go in both, won't they show twice on any reports? When you create a report, each of the fields where that Birth Certificate is cited will have the same little number by it which indicates the entry in the Source List, which will be the details of the Birth Certificate which will appear just the once. > Also, do you enter the date accessed or not and why? I usually do - mainly because there's a field for it! -- Jenny M Benson Legacy User Group guidelines: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Etiquette.asp Archived messages after Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Archived messages from old mail server - before Nov. 21 2009: http://www.mail-archive.com/[email protected]/ Online technical support: http://www.LegacyFamilyTree.com/Help.asp Follow Legacy on Facebook (http://www.facebook.com/LegacyFamilyTree) and on our blog (http://news.LegacyFamilyTree.com).
