Pat, Thank you.

Initially may I make it clear that I do not know why you are hitting the
download problems. I can, therefore, only suggest what I would do under your
circumstances, rather than give a proven resolution for the problem.

I would start by forgetting about updating and consider a complete reinstall.
To this end I would uninstall v. 8.0.0.358. I have thought quite a bit about
this, as I realise that it is the only working version of v 8.0 which you have.
Nevertheless, I think it would be advisable. It will not affect your data etc.
which is now stored in your documents.

Then download the full version of the current version (v 8.0.0.414) from the
web. It will ask for your email address (any will do) and do let it download
until complete – keep an eye on the progress, and if it stops leave it until it
restarts. Then install.

Please let us know the outcome.

What build of Legacy 8 were you running before you tried to update?

Ron, the webinar I'm trying to watch was one presented last week and is
supposed to still be available for viewing.

Maybe not when you download, but on my screen that says "Download Legacy
8.0 update," at the bottom of the screen it says in red letters "Required email
address" and there's a box to put it in.

Ron, the email address for webinars is the one I originally used to
register for the webinars, the one on which I receive notices of webinars, the
one I use for LUG emails.

      Pat,
Your email address should have nothing to do with downloading updates.
You do not even need to provide an email address to download updates. If you
are getting an invalid email address notice when trying to log into the Family
Tree Webinars site, that means that the email address you are trying to log in
with is not the same email address you originally registered with.

Two things I haven't been able to do thus far: download the latest
build for Legacy 8 and sign in to a webinar I had registered for but didn't see
at the time.
