Thanks Cathy and Jenny; I get it now. . I somehow missed those 2 points, the right click on the source/save, and the copy to source clipboard at the bottom left. That helps immensely to be able to copy an assigned source to re-use for a specific family. I was using the prompt for detail, I understood that part, just was using the wrong save button and thus was losing my typing entries, and not the copy button at the bottom! I appreciate your time to help Sincerely, Pam

You can avoid having all the sources added if you have prompt for detail checked - but once you cancel that's it - the rest of the sources on the multiple source clipboard are not attached. Try it out on the Sample database or some other test database. I think the multiple source clipboard is an abomination and I wouldn't use it for anything - in fact I can't think of a case in my own research when it could be useful. So I use the single source clipboard constantly. How do I change back to another source without retyping? If I know I'll want to use it again soon, or it is a source I often use, I SAVE it and then LOAD it to the clipboard when I want to use it again. 10 sources can be saved in this way. If I didn't realise I'd want it again and so haven't saved it, then I find the person where I used it and go to their Assigned Sources page. Highlight it and then use the Copy to Source Clipboard button on the bottom left of that screen. If you haven't got Prompt for Detail always checked, you will need to then click the triangle of the Source Clipboard if you need to make any changes to the Source Detail or change the Recorded Date. However, it's worth updating. The cautious wait a few days after the release of a build. If there's any real problem, it will be followed within a day or two with another build.
