Family story and lots of facts (events) have accumulated over the years for John Doe born in Germany and immigrated to the US, married with 11 children. However, recent research shows that the information and events prior to 1852 are for a John Doe born in Germany who dropped out of sight; information and events after 1852 are for John Doe who came from an unknown place.
Hence the need for doing an "anti-merge" - NOT an unmerge! Does anyone have a suggestion for an easy way of splitting the present list of events into two and assigning them and associated info to two different John Does? Data entry dates are intermixed, so not a basis for anti-merge.Sources for name and birth date are intermixed and will have to be separated one-by-one. But, is there a way to split the events other than one-by-one copy/paste? Thanx in advance for any suggestions. John Genealogy - - - - - it's in my blood!
