Hello Cathy & Mike Both good suggestions. I had already tried rebooting my computer & that hadn't solved the problem. I just ran file maintenance & the problem persists. One other problem I hadn't mentioned, but which is most likely related: I first noticed something was wrong when I added a father to an existing family. When I went to the father's family view to add a wife, I noticed the words "husb" were in the pane where her name would be when she was entered. I went ahead & entered her name and all seemed to be well. This happened with twice with 2 different families. But that's when I noticed the 0 in the upper left hand pane of the wife's side of the page & the other issues I mentioned.
I have a recent copy on my laptop as well as my flash drive, so can go back to those slightly earlier versions and copy over to my PC, but would like to clear this up & find out why this happened so it never happens again. Try this to see whether there are any problems in the data that can be fixed. You may have to perform this several times - until no errors are detected.
