Hi Paula, You have to decide where you want to keep your attached files (images etc). You can keep them in the new default location at My Documents/Legacy Family Tree/Media - or wherever else you decide. Once decided you make that your default location at Options Customise 6.2.
When the media is where you want it, then use Tools - Media Relinker - to reattach. Note the search function in this tool can be confined to the drive where you've chosen to put your media but can't be narrowed further. There is also a new "Gather My Media" tool for those who have attached media from all over the place - or for those generally organised but slipped up a few times - you use different options depending on what you are wanting to do. Once your media is where you want it, if you try to attach media from another location you'll be asked if you want it copied to your default location, left where it is OR copied to some other folder (which allows for copying to a sub-folder of your default media location). Enjoy Legacy 8. Legacy 8 deliberately hasn't overwritten Legacy 7 if you've used the new default location for installing the program. So you can run both programs while you get used to Legacy 8 - at least you can if you haven't converted all your Legacy 7 databases where they currently are instead of having them copied to the new default (or copied them to another folder of your choice) AND you didn't have backups that you know how to restore. Charts? from Legacy Charting? Legacy Charting 8 has a new extension. You might want to open your old charts where they are and then save them to a new Legacy 8 location.
