The preposition file is not being copied from Legacy version 7.5 when updating
to version 8.x.  If you have made changes to it in version 7, you will want to
copy that file into the new place where it is stored on Legacy 8 which is
"C:\Users\username\Documents\Legacy Family
Tree\_AppData\Misc\Preposition_English.lst" where "username" is the name of
your Windows login account.  If you are still on Windows XP then instead of
"Users" it will have "Documents and Settings".

Help>Help Index>Search>Preposition>Prepositions on Locations provides some
documentation on this feature.

I added "Prob " and "Probably " to the list of prepositions because they work
similar to the other entries in the file when viewing the Master Locations
List. (Note the trailing space)

Note that each preposition should have a space after it.  The line for "Under "
actually contains 2 spaces after it in the file installed by Legacy 8 and
therefore that preposition will not work as expected unless it is found in the
Master Locations List with 2 spaces after it.  Each preposition including
trailing spaces must be an exact match to be detected by the "Remove common
prepositions from locations" function in the Sort Location List.  The Help
button on that tool also describes how prepositions affect the display of
locations.

A couple of other prepositions that I added to the list are "Of , " and "Of, "
(Note the included comma and the trailing space).  There are likely other
prepositions that you may wish to customize.  The sort routine takes into
account any exact match of these prepositions and sorts the locations as though
the preposition was not present but then appends the preposition to the end of
the sorted location when it is displayed.  This results in all locations with
the same spelling being displayed together.
