I think you misunderstood my meaning.  Sorry.  What I would like to do is to 
copy a census event from one person in one database to the same person in 
another database.

Yes, You can copy many of the Legacy Master Lists from one file to another.

Go to View > Master Lists
Select Event Definition for your case but other Master Lists will do as well 
Click the Options Button Select Import from the menu The import lists screen 
opens and you will see all the lists you can import from one file to another.
Use the browse button to select the file you want to import from.
You can also import defaults to reset your lists to default values if you have 
purged unused list entries. (Only lists with an * on their name have default 
values.

If you have difficulty or questions at any stage press F1 or use the help 
button on the screen for more information.
