I have to agree with you, Cathy.  It was perfectly flexible before this change 
in v8. ;)
At the very least, they could have had it default to checked in the conversion 
to v8.

The option to include Event Notes in a Report should stick like other settings. 
If it really isn't, that's a bug. I haven't time to check at the moment but it 
has been sticking.

The rationale? I've never seen a satisfactory one though I can see that being 
able to strip notes in some circumstances is useful. However, I can't imagine 
wanting to do it for all events. So for me, the ability to control them via the 
Event Sentence Definitions was perfect.
