I use this a bit differently. I open the Sources from the person's Family page by clicking on the little books icon. Then I scroll down the events list to Father Rel.: & Mother Rel.: I add the source I used to prove the child/parent relationship.
It's for my own use, I found out years ago I would be looking at a list of children & wonder where I found that one or this one. On some I have a bunch of sources listed...as census...which may show the person as "son" or "daughter" of the head of the family...usually the father. The more sources, the better. This is quicker for me than looking through all the events.
