Rod:

You are 4 generations back in Windows operating system.
You are 5 generations back in Parallels Fusion.

My guess is Legacy 8 has problems with those old systems.
I would recommend you upgrade to at least Windows 7 or 8 and Fusion 9.

The other option is to downgrade Legacy to about Version 4 or 5 to be more
like your other computer software vintage.

If your Mac computer is similar vintage as your software, you probably lack
enough memory to be running a virtual machine. I recommend at least 8GB
and prefer 16 GB when running VMs on a Mac.

I would not run the new Windows 7 or 8 with less than 6 or 8 GB in a VM.
Most Windows 8 systems come with 8-12 GB of memory today.

The older versions of Fusion does not have current drivers to support a lot
of the newer software.

I think your basic problem is incompatible / outdated software.

Leon,

I am running VMware Fusion Version 4.1.4 [900582]
I am running Windows XP Professional as a virtual machine
I am running Legacy Version 8.0.0.425
I have these on a Macbook Air

I was able to create a full GEDCOM file one time but have not been able to
do it again and cannot create a partial GEDCOM file as Legacy shows I
should be able to. Any help is appreciated. Rod

1st of all, I don't like all the garbage at the end of your email.
Please delete that on all future emails before sending. Thanks.

I am running Parallels Fusion 9, v.9.0.24229, dated April 1, 2014 on an
iMac.
I am running Windows 7 Ultimate as a Virtual Machine in Parallels.
I am running the most current version of Legacy, L8.0.0.425.

I have no problem exporting a GEDCOM file or a Legacy GEDCOM file using the
Sample database.

What system and versions are you running? Parallels? Windows? Legacy?
