Thank you to Jenny, Cathy & Michele for your replies.

Changing the sort order from the spouse list has solved the problem. I
looked at 2 other individuals with multiple marriages and they are all
fine.
This may be simply due to the order I entered them originally as I do
have option 2.2 ticked for new spouses into chronological order.

I also did a manual sort via the other tools menu as Michele has
suggested. I use a saved customized column list to show marriages only
to help with identifying the biological parent(s) of the children.

Once again your help is greatly appreciated.
