Hi Jim,
You may have created two new Events/Facts.  On the Individual's Information 
screen click on Add, to the right of the Events/Facts, then click on the down 
arrow beside the Event/Fact box - you should see your new fields in 
alphabetical order.

I have created two new fields "Personal ID" and "Family ID" which show on the 
Index tab but I cannot for the life of me see how to enter information into 
these fields. When I open the Individual's Information dialog all I can see are 
the "User ID", "AFN" and "FamilySearch ID". I would be very grateful if 
somebody could tell me how to use the new fields.
