Thank you Jenny and Cathy,
I have created the Ancestor book report and I cannot see any ahnentafel numbers at all – all I can see are the source citation numbers that appears after each name or source. That is the problem I am having and cannot find information on how to have the ahnentafel numbers appearing in reports once I locate a starting person (i.e. myself). Will keep trying. Thank you for the clarification on the AFN in the individual screen, I can ignore that now :) Jemima From: Cathy Pinner [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: 18 August 2014 09:58 To: [email protected] Subject: Re: [LegacyUG] Ahnentafel Numbers (AFN) in Individual Screen & Ancestor Book Report Hi Jemima, The AFN box is for the Ancestral File Number from the old FamilySearch Pedigree Trees. Nothing to do with ahnentafel numbers. You can get ahnentafel numbers in some charts and reports in Legacy. See the Report Options. They are not tied to any particular person as you may want to do reports for different people and have the numbers relate to them. With the Set Relationships. The relationship shows on Family View and Pedigree View (and the Index or Descendant View if you customise the columns to include Relationship). It doesn't show on the Individual screen. On Family View the relationship shows above the main couple. Check that you haven't set a colour scheme where the text for the relationship is the same colour as the background. That's a common reason they aren't visible. Right click in the space between the main man and h is parents and you'll get a menu that includes Set relationship foreground colour and Set relationship background colour. I have already done the Set Relationships tool and still nothing appearing. I am guessing that once set, they will appear in the Ancestor Book report? At present no numbers appear for each direct ancestor. Or am I doing this wrong? Please advise, with many thanks in advance.
